Project Engineer

Summary:

RP Power is looking for a qualified Industrial Sales Project Engineer to join and support our sales team.

As a Project Engineer you will be required to assist the Director of Sales in obtaining an annually assigned sales quota through your technical expertise, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

You will be responsible to provide information and training on company products, services, applications, and system design as well as the coordination of engineering and sales support of Kohler Power Systems manufactured products. Project Engineers also deal with logistical issues and use their project management skills to reach all organizational goals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, the Project Engineer must be able to perform the following:

  • Manage Sales Accounts through support of active projects and information.
  • Manage on-line iSqFt report – review upcoming projects and track bid dates, assist sales staff by preparing a bidders’ list of electrical sub-contractors, communicate weekly all sales leads found.
  • Work with Sales staff to determine project specific requirements, run quotes for the project via KohlerNet, and draft proposals.
  • Prepare & distribute submittals. Create drawings with dimensions and pad layouts, as needed.
  • Work with Onsite Electrical Contractors to support the site preparation, installation, interconnect wiring, and commissioning of the Kohler Power Systems equipment on the jobsite.
  • Provide technical assistance for customers, as needed.
  • Maintain and update Sales projects in CRM.
  • Communicate Order Forecasts & Sales Hit Rate to Kohler monthly.
  • Maintain Job Register and Proposal Register.
  • Create Job Management Forms on sales projects and maintain file archive organization.
  • Place and track all orders – notify customer that you are managing their project for sales staff.
  • Expedite shipments when needed, process RMA requests, mis-shipments, incorrect orders, etc.
  • Compile Operating & Maintenance manuals (CD, USB or hard copy). Ship to customer with transmittal letter.
  • Know “who” to call with specific problems.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Education/Experience:

Technical Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred) from a college or university; and, minimum of two years related experience (preferred) with project management.

Computer Skills

Engineering and Technology

Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of power generation systems.
